What gets set,
and how to refuse it

Two kinds of cookie are involved here, and they behave very differently. One is set while you read. The other is set only if you click a booking link, and it is set by the company you land on rather than by us.

Google Analytics sets a small number of cookies — typically _ga and one named for the property — which give this browser an anonymous identifier so that two page views can be recognised as one visit rather than two strangers. They carry no name, no email address and nothing that identifies you as a person. They expire on their own, the longest after about two years.

This site sets no advertising cookies, because there is no advertising on it. It sets no preference or session cookies of its own either; there is nothing here to log into or configure. Cloudflare's Web Analytics, which the host adds to every page, is cookieless and sets nothing at all.

When you click a booking link, the provider — or the network that handles their commission — sets a cookie on their own domain recording that you arrived from here. That is the entire mechanism by which this site earns anything: if the cookie is absent, a booking you make still costs you the same and simply pays us nothing.

The companies involved are Airalo, BikesBooking, Booking.com, GetTransfer, GetYourGuide, Kiwi.com, Klook, Radical Storage, SafetyWing, TicketNetwork, TourRadar and TripAdvisor, reached through CJ Affiliate, Rakuten Advertising, Travelpayouts, or directly. These cookies are set at the moment you land on the provider's site, under that provider's own cookie policy and consent banner — not under ours. If you never click a booking link, none of them are ever set.

Block them in the browser. Every current browser can refuse third-party cookies outright, and Firefox and Safari do by default. Blocking them does not break anything on this site — there is no feature here that depends on a cookie.

Block the analytics. Any content blocker, or Google's own opt-out browser add-on, stops the measurement described on the privacy page from happening at all. Nothing on this site degrades if you do.

Do not click the booking links. Every price on this site is published so you can act on it directly — the gate price, the MyKad price, the train fare, the operator's own address. Going straight to the operator earns us nothing and costs you nothing, and the pages are written so that it works.
