What this site knows about you

The short version: there is no account, no login and no newsletter here, so we hold no list with your name on it. What we do have is anonymous traffic measurement, and the fact that somebody clicked a booking link — never who.

This page describes what the site actually loads, named specifically. If you find something running here that is not on this list, that is a mistake and we want to hear about it at [email protected].

The site runs Google Analytics 4 (property G-10HY88K4H9). It records the pages requested, roughly where in the world the request came from, the kind of device, and which site sent you. IP addresses are truncated by Google before storage and we never see a full one. We cannot identify you from any of it and we do not try.

On top of the page views, the site records a small number of events: that a booking link was clicked and which partner it pointed at, that a Google Maps link was opened, that an email address on the site was clicked, and that a page was still open and scrolled past halfway after 45 seconds. Each event carries the page it happened on, the partner involved and where on the page the link sat — never anything about the person clicking.

This is what tells us that, say, the where-to-stay page earns and the attraction verdicts do not. It is the difference between editing this site on evidence and editing it on taste. We would rather say plainly what it does than pretend it is not there.

Google Fonts. Typefaces are served from Google's servers, which means Google sees the IP address that requested them. No cookie is set by this.

Cloudflare. The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, which keeps standard server logs — IP address, time, page, user agent — for security and abuse handling. Cloudflare also adds its own Web Analytics beacon to every page as it is served. It counts page views and is cookieless — it sets nothing on your device and builds no profile across sites. It is added at the edge rather than by us, which is precisely why it is named here: it runs on this site whether or not it appears in our source code.

GetYourGuide's availability widget appears on a small number of pages and is loaded from GetYourGuide. It is their code running in a frame, under their privacy policy.

Affiliate links. Clicking one hands you to that provider or to the network that handles their payments, and from that moment you are on their site under their policy. The full list of who they are is on the disclosure page, and what they set on your device is on the cookie page.

No newsletter and no email list. There is no signup field anywhere on this site. If that changes, this page changes before it does, not after.

Nothing is sold, rented or shared for advertising. There is no advertising network on this site, no retargeting pixel, and no cross-site profile is built about you here.

No comments, no accounts, no uploads. There is nowhere on this site to type anything, which removes an entire category of problem.

If you are in the UK, the EU or anywhere with comparable law, you have the right to ask what is held about you, to ask for it to be deleted, and to object to it being processed. Because we hold no account and no email address, in practice there is rarely anything of yours for us to return — but ask anyway and we will tell you honestly what exists.

The most effective control is at your end rather than ours: block analytics in your browser or an extension and the measurement above simply does not happen. The cookie page sets out how.
