It stands over Stadium Merdeka, where independence was declared on 31 August 1957 — a piece of symbolic town planning worth a minute's thought when you are standing underneath it.
The Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur occupies the upper floors, with its lobby around level 98. Hotel guests and bar patrons have been going up for some time. That is a different thing from a public observation deck, and conflating the two is where most of the bad information online comes from.

First-hand accounts through spring 2026 describe the same picture: the tower reachable only as a hotel or bar guest, with no public deck. Reviewers in February 2026 said so explicitly; April accounts describe drinks on floor 75, which is the hotel, not an observation deck.
